  1. Rednas and Predator, Ken was the same age as me: 63. He was actually 4 months younger.
  2. Ken was 63 years, 4 months. 3 days at his death. His birthday was April 5, 1957.
  3. Hello, everyone. It has been many years since I was last here. But the subject warrants a return. Ken Rozhon and I have been friends since childhood, pretty much right after diapers. Up until high school, we switched off staying overnight at each other's house. We would play Army in the back yard, until we "graduated" to board games like Avalon Hill and SPI. Adulthood took us our own way. I enlisted in the Army, while Ken went to work as a driver for the Riverside Press-Enterprise newspaper. He was one of my groomsmen when I got married, but I don't think he was exactly happy I did. Years later, when my wife and I split, I stayed with Ken for 4-5 years. That's when I got involved with Victory. Though we lived in the same mobile home park, Ken and I didn't see much of each other. The last time I did see him was about 3 weeks ago. I'm recovering from open heart surgery, and the surgeon doesn't want me driving yet. Ken took me to the clinic to get some blood drawn. The last time I spoke with him was a week after that. I asked about taking me to the lab, and he said, "If I'm up to it." I interpreted that the wrong way. That week, John Bierle sent me a friend request on Facebook. I recognized his name, and accepted. He said several people had been trying to contact Ken with no success. So I got out my walker, and went to his place. First I noticed that his red Toyota truck wasn't in the driveway; another car was. I went inside, and found his grandniece cleaning up. She's the one who first told me the Ken died. His brother later told me he found Ken, in his underwear, sitting in his recliner; it looked he's been there several days. He called 911, and Ken was take to Loma Linda University and put on a ventilator, but by then it was too late. I don't know what killed Ken; at the moment, it's tentatively listed as "total systemic failure." I do not know when his funeral will be. I do know that his body will be cremated, and he will be buried alongside his parents at Montecito Cemetery in Colton CA.
  4. Wow. Any part of Tunisia that WASN'T taken at the last?
  5. I am dropping from Victory!; I guess you can say I've lost interest in the game. Sorry, Baltic States, but Czechoslovakia will still be active--but it won't be run by me. Maybe in the future, when I'm approaching retirement, I'l come back in. But not now.
  6. Hay Rott From every thing I have been hearing you don't want to use windows10. I have not heard any thing good about it and so if you don't use it you wont need to worry about how it affects VOEP. Now this is just my opinion, for what its worth. Game Well I just installed Windows 10 on my touchscreen laptop and then loaded the VOEP and it works great. So far I like Windows 10 - not sure I'm ready to put it on my desktop, but so far so good. My only complaint with Win10 is that it wouldn't let me play Medieval II: Total War, which was already installed. It said I had to be an administrator. Now I'm trying my hand at Crusader Kings II.
  7. I imagine Rumania is feeling pretty good about himself, since he took my AIC center and overran my airbase. Can't imagine those P-36's and Vindicators putting up much of a fight. So, I guess this means I'm out. Right?? I'm out when they pry my M-1 Garand from my cold, dead fingers! Or whatever the US was using in 1939.
  8. I know Rumania declared on me; maybe Yugoslavia has too.
  9. Rumania has backed out of the peninsula, but still controls Kozani, Salonica and eastward. Looks to me like he is making room for Germany to move in and attack towards Athens because the Germans are already in Albania. I'd wish he'd make some room for me in Poland!
  10. It's the calm before the storm, dude.
  11. OK ~ that surprises me that anyone would not one know about that one.. I think I (we) knew about that one way back in Game 33 (My first). I may be wrong, but I think when you do RPD for AE, you get charged even if unsuccessful. With APD orders, you always pay.
  12. I know all about the FP/DW/FP tactic, Coot. I was forced to drop as Portugal in turn 34 because of that. My morale was already taking a hit because of my treasury, but that tactic drove me so far in the hole that, if they stopped right then, I would've spent the rest of the game doing PA orders--and probably would still be negative at game's end.
  13. No! LOL Well, you asked.
  14. Hey, Dag, at ease with the 'no one'! Observe, please, that Hamish, Rogue, and myself have announced ourselves.
