  1. Sha'thar, inscrutable, licks the blood from a recent hunt off her forepaw.
  2. It would seem to me that even if there was a gate there, there might be some doubt as to whether the gate was powered or not? More information is needed to be posted, I think. As the massive construction material supply needed to build the powerplants for a gate would have to still be on the world, under normal circumstances these would remain as evidence on a hastily evacuated world. I say cheers to Pete for both fixing a bug that needed fixing, and trying to undue the damage caused by something which was fairly obviously a bug. I'd certainly like to hear more about just what happened though!
  3. My problem has been solved! Thank you to those who posted! I had neglected to run the SETUP.EXE file.
  4. First, yes I am still alive, and the cats are doing relatively well. I recently purchased a new Windows machine, and stupidly let them talk me into a Vista install rather than the Windows XP Home I was thinking of when I walked through the door. Silly me. I've -most- programs I need working on this computer now. The one I'm lacking is the SNROTE turn entry program. I've tried a clean install from the RT FTP site, yet every time I try to run the thing, I get an odd "RICHTX32.OCX is missing or broken" message. Having discovered that this is a somewhat common problem for Vista, I followed the directions available online for repairing this. No luck. Still getting the message, still unable to run the turn entry program. ANY assistance, short of "Wipe the System and get Windows XP installed" comments are most welcome! I spent my money on the hardware, which I am happy for. And it does a fine job with World of Warcraft and Second Life... -Sha'thar
  5. Sha'thar peeks in, shakes her head, and trots off to hunt game animals in the hunting preserve set aside exclusively for the Clan Eldress....
  6. If I were you, I would deploy the Mk I Ball of Yarn now.... Also, I couldn't see the image by clicking on the link. A friend had forwarded me the image in email. Seems to me there's nothing remotely "angelic" about angelfire.
  7. At the very least, perhaps the primative colony can serve as a fuel depot for your continued explorations.
  8. I agree with those who have said that there must be a great deal going on in the game -behind the scenes.- Disclosure on public boards probably began to end when it was realized that empires were starting to actually meet, and sometimes information posted here could provide information to empires who you might not wish to have it. I think the game is as active as it has ever been. Perhaps even more so as folks are now formulating trade agreements, working out convoy routes and moving forward with military operation.
  9. Honorable President- We are attempting to communicate with you via this method due to an unfortunate accident involving the ambassador who volunteered to remain with us during your recent visit to our pridelands. He recently requested to attend our dusk hunt, to observe and record. During this event, he brought with him the communicator you had left with him. During the final phase of the hunt... well... one of our huntresses ate the communicator. (Glowers at daughter, who sulks and pads away into the background.) Your ambassador is fine. He is expected to make a complete recovery once his arm has regrown. We have much to communicate with you, regarding an idea which occured to me about how we might facilitate both trade and your expansion into space we both share. Please communicate with me at the frequency you have for us. And send another communicator, if you please. -Sha'thar Clan Eldress The Gosht Kohr
  10. Hello and welcome! All I can say by way of advice is... Build more of Everything. We wish you healthy cubs, good hunting and starry nights. -Sha'thar Clan Eldress
  11. Do remember though that since this is a long term, open-ended game, peace and trade are reasonable options for play!
  12. I'm sorry... I see that Avatar and all I can imagine is a Jack Nicholson voice intoning "Heeere's Spongy!"
  13. It might also be worthwhile to note that unlike Victory, this is an open-ended game (as far as anyone knows). So the game operates in time-frames in which karma works just fine. What goes around will ultimately come around! Or so I think! Welcome to the game, oh spongey one!
  14. (Sha'thar blinks at a whisper from one of her advisors and clears her throat.) Honored President, I also regret to inform you that we do not know the whereabouts of any green-skinned female humanoid slave dancers. Interceptions of ancient tele-visual radio signals have indicated that such may be important to you in seeking the continuation of your genetic line? If we come across such a race in our explorations, we shall share the information with you.
  15. We, the Hunting Sisters of the Gosht Kohr, welcome the United Federation of Planets (#1936) to our territory. We are honored to meet you! It was wise of you to contact us via sub-space communication before entering our hunting grounds. We have not met a species such as your own, and were unfamiliar with your customs. We offer you our prey and the hospitality of our dens. We hope in the near future that trade and co-operation between our races shall become a reality. Your peaciful contact is a significant first step in the realization of this hope. As you will note, there is a significant scale difference between our races. Because of this, we suggest that you not wander about without a guide, or at least with bright clothing and beacon lights. The populace has been notified of your existance and of your visit to our worlds. Still, some caution is advisable. We are a curious race, and unlike you our forepaws are not prehensil. While we do well with our twin tails and muzzles, curious exploration of smaller objects in our environment could put those objects in harm's way. Our young especially are known to bite objects during curious explorations... Once again, welcome. I, Sha'thar, Clan Eldress of the Gosht Kohr, look forward to meeting your official representative and have personally hunted to supply food for the feast of welcome. We hope you do not mind your meat 'tar-tar.' -Sha'thar Clan Eldress The Gosht Kohr
