Grand Inquisitor
So I did an ANZ on Mk I Nuclear Engines and all it says is its thrust output is 400. What is the ratio of thrust output to tonnage per AP?
General Miles Avatar
Add up total thrust and divide by total ship tonnage. The result is your AP value with a min of 1 and a max of 8 for Draco Example. You design a ship with 125 mk 1 nuclear engines for a total thrust output of 50000 on your 25000 ton ship 50000/25000=2 so your AP is 2 Btw I don't recall thrust being so high on those engines. Can you confirm as I haven't done an anz on them yet
Grand Inquisitor
yeah the ANZ says 400 thrust output. Looks like some things have changed, as once a ship design of mine was done the order shows less resources needed than i expected.
Grand Inquisitor
What is the order to delete a fleet that has no ships? I can't find it.
General Miles Avatar
I believe it may be decommission fleet
General Miles Avatar
Yup I double checked and the order you seek is DECF. You can get rid of every empty fleet with this order
hobknob
There is little point in getting rid off spare fleets and it just cost you orders later when you need a new one. After you start losing ships and have empty fleets all over the place you can use the DECF order with the Home option and they will all return to your HW so you can use them again. Grand Inquisitor
What's the algorithm for tractor strength to tonnage in pulling a starbase?
General Miles Avatar
All that is required is that the fleet you are using to tow your base has enough tractor power to equal or exceed the tonnage of your base
Grand Inquisitor
Makes that easy. So the order supp and rulebook don't show how to CSV a moon without a pop group. Just says if no pop group available it does the planet its orbiting. Does this mean to do a CSV on a moon you have to drop a colony beacon?
Landmine
The pop group does not matter. I have no idea what its original intent was for but if you enter 0 (zero) into the field its a default for a CSV of the moon/planet in question. I believe this is true even if dozens of POP groups are on the planet.
General Miles Avatar
The intent of being able to designate a pop group on your CSV order is to determine if your spiffy new domed city (or any other installation that's helps attrition )you built had any affect to attrition for that pop group. CSV orders will only check attrition at the orbit your fleet is currently at. You will have to NM to each moon to issue a CSV for that moon This differs from the GEO order where you can GEO each moon from one location. For example if your fleet is at orbit 6 with 4 moons (6a b c and d) you will be able to GEO all the orbits from 6 but will need to Issue NM orders to CSV each moon
hobknob
On the tractor question, each fleet with towing equipment is so listed on your turn printout and will state something like this, Tractor Power: (can tow 1,880,000 tons of other ships in-system) Good Luck
Grand Inquisitor
Is there any useful point to "Colonial Settlers"?
